Family portraits for a fellow photographer

Shannon is a photographer here in The Woodlands that I met in an online photographer's forum. She and her family came to me for her family portraits this week. They have a brand new baby boy and a beautiful little girl that seems to love being in front of the camera! Glad to meet you in real life Shannon! You have a beautiful family!

Holiday Cards for Charity - help me pick a charity!

The holidays start *really* early for photographers as everyone starts thinking about sending out Christmas cards to friends and relatives! The Season is already in full swing around here with family portrait sessions.
This year, I plan to donate 100% of the profit from the sale of holiday greeting cards to charity. I want you guys to help me decide what you think might be a worthy charity for the donation!!!!! There are so many worthy causes that it is a difficult decision to make. Think Pink? March of Dimes? MD Anderson? Local Churches? If there is a particular charity that is close to your heart, drop me an email ( mindy@mindyharmon.com ) and let me know about it!

...seriously though...when I was taking his photos, this little guy actually told me that he wants to be a pro golfer when he grows up (and that he likes Jeff Gordon..not Dale Jr) :o) Just kidding...just a little poke at the dad of this cute little bundle. I bet that you'll never guess what the theme of the baby's room is! :oP

Twin Cuties

These chubby cheeked little cuties came to see me on Saturday for first birthday portraits. We skipped right past the sneak peeks so that I could proof the session to get birthday portraits ordered in time for the celebration. The Holmes family portraits

Little Miss C was all smiles and blue eyes for me yesterday! Jon and I have been friends with The Holmes for a while now. We all recently had a great vacation in Hawaii along with the Jasso family featured a few posts below! But, this was my first time meeting Miss C, and I can't wait to get her pretty blue eyes in the studio for some more girly photographs! Here are some of the Holmes family shots that we captured:

Ike Update - I'm back up and running!!!

I now have a new found appreciation for electricity, hot food, gas and cell phones! Hurricane Ike blew through and left us without these things since last week. It was quite and adjustment, but if you take away the destruction that hit this area along with Ike, it was actually kind of nice to slow down a bit. I got to spend some time with just the boys and Jon without PS3 games or DVDs....that probably won't happen again for quite a while! It made Jon and I stop and remember what it was like when we were kids without all of the electronic gadgets to keep us busy. Neighbors gathered in the streets for chit chatting, families took walks and bike rides together more than ever and kids stayed outside playing till dusk....love it. Now we have power back to normal and everyone is back to their busy lives again. Thanks to everyone that checked on us during and after the storm!

Hurricane Ike is almost here

Well, it looks like big 'ol Ike will be making his way right over the top of us today or early tomorrow. They are prediciting long power outages...hopefully, that won't happen....but, if it does and I'm not returning emails this weekend, that's the reason why. I'll post again after the storm passes and/or power is restored! Stay safe everybody! ...especially my clients that are South of me!

Five year anniversary portraits

Al and Courtney are just about to celebrate 5 years together and they wanted to remember their anniversary with a few portraits. My hubby and I have known Al and Courtney for a very long time...even before we were married. Al, Jon and I used to work together at Compaq...and now Al and Jon work together at BMC Software. Lots of memories and lots of good, goofy times between all of us.....which means that much more pressure on me to make great portraits! I hope you like them, guys!

Do you have your kid's Halloween costumes yet??? (lol....I don't!) Hurry up and get it made or ordered because October 1st will be our Halloween Portrait Bash! I'll be doing a full day of studio limited edition sessions just for Halloween. Bring your kids in costume or your favorite fall outfit for a 20-30 minute Halloween session. These limited edition Halloween Sessions are $150 and include one 8x10, two 5x7's and eight 5x7 Halloween Greeting cards made with your choice of photos from the session plus an online gallery for viewing proofs after the session.

Urban Engagement Portraits

I hope you guys (and the doggies) had fun today! I know the doggies probably slept well on the car ride home after making them walk a *whole* block. ;o) Since you guys like black and white, I thought I would post some of the shots in both black and white and color for you....they are such a world of difference. One of them isn't really black and white...steel blue...but I just thought that it fit that sexy shot! Congrats on the engagement you two!

Brad Barker, DDS is a dentist in Katy and he commissioned me to take corporate headshots for him to use on his new web site, advertising and print media. Brad wanted more lifestyle type portraits for his headshots for a warmer image. We had a great time yesterday in The Woodlands despite the heat and dodging a few rain drops here and there!
